In less than one year—from pouring the foundation in May 2025 to installing a rooftop solar array—Nordfab has completed a 27,000 sq. ft. expansion of its XD manufacturing facility, tripling production capacity.
This investment comes as demand for larger-diameter ducting continues to grow across industries such as metalworking, battery manufacturing, and heavy industrial processing.
Rather than waiting for constraints, Nordfab moved early—expanding capacity and reengineering operations to support the next wave of industrial system requirements.
Industrial systems are evolving. Projects are getting larger. Expectations are increasing.
Nordfab has seen consistent growth in demand for XD ducting and responded with a facility designed to support that momentum, not slow it down.
By tripling XD production capacity, Nordfab is positioned to handle larger, more complex systems with greater consistency and reliability.
This project was not just about adding space.
Nordfab conducted a full efficiency analysis, including detailed process mapping, to redesign the entire production layout and workflow. The result is a streamlined operation built for speed, consistency, and scalability.
To further strengthen reliability, redundancy has been implemented at every major production step, helping reduce the risk of delays and keep projects moving. We incorporated built-in redundancy by adding equipment and manufacturing cells to minimize risk of delays.
As capacity increases, maintaining quality remains critical.
All stainless steel ducting critical weld areas are passivated, ensuring a clean, corrosion-resistant surface and consistent performance. By avoiding grinding processes, Nordfab preserves material integrity and delivers long-term durability in demanding environments.
The expanded XD facility was developed with sustainability as a core consideration.
Rooftop solar panels generate a majority of the plant’s electricity, contributing to a carbon-neutral operation. This approach supports increasing industry focus on energy efficiency and responsible manufacturing.
With increased capacity, improved operational flow, and a continued commitment to quality, Nordfab is well positioned to support the future of industrial ventilation.
As system sizes grow and project demands evolve, this expansion ensures the ability to deliver—consistently, reliably, and at scale.
This investment reflects a clear direction: building ahead of demand and continuing to support the evolving needs of modern industrial systems.
