When to Use Mild Steel Ducting

As different materials require different transport velocities to remain suspended in the airflow, proper sizing helps maintain the required airflow throughout the system and supports efficient material transport. For example, wood chips and sawdust typically convey effectively at air velocities between 18 and 22 m/s.

Nordfab's Mild Steel Ducting is available in a range of diameters and can be supplied with either flanged, straight or clipped-edge connections to suit different installation requirements. Standard systems are finished with a protective RAL 7032 coating, while alternative materials and thicknesses can be supplied when needed making the system adaptable to a wide range of industrial requirements.
