QFS Ducting

Designed for machining and any other operations which create oil mists, Nordfab Quick-Fit Sealed (QFS) Ducting can significantly reduce risks of leakage from ducting. QFS features laser welded and caulked duct (solid seams eliminate leakage) and double sealing at duct connections. All bends, branches, reducers, and other products with joints or collars are epoxy caulked. When clipping the ductwork together, an additional nitrile gasket is placed between the parts to avoid leakage. The Quick-Fit Clip features a generoursly dimensioned sealing gasket held firmly in place by positive over-centre clamping action over the rolled collars at the duct ends to be joined. For added security, a locking pin may be inserted.

QFS modular clip-together components are designed with rolled edges, which saves time and money on installation, is easy to clean out, is adaptable to existing ductwork, and is easily re-used during shop floor reconfigurations - providing one of the lowest life cycle costs of any ducting product.

Quick-Fit Sealed (QFS) Ducting — enhanced leak resistance

Quick-Fit Sealed (QFS) Ducting is engineered with laser-welded seams, double sealing at connections for enhanced leak resistance. All joints are epoxy caulked and when clipping the ductwork together, an additional nitrile gasket is placed between the parts to avoid leakage. Epoxy caulking and locking pins ensure a tight seal, making it ideal for oil mist and coolant mist applications in machining operations.

Quick-Fit (QF) ducting — x2 installation speed

Designed for speed and simplicity, the QF system clamps together in seconds without welds, bolts, screws, special tools, precise measurements, or specialised skills needed. Ready sections and rolled lips simplify alignment and reduce installation complexity. It cuts installation time — and duct-related downtime — by more than 45% compared to traditional ductwork. These efficiencies make Quick-Fit more economical, with lower labour costs and quicker project turnaround.

Quick-Fit (QF) ducting — designed for safety

Quick-Fit (QF) ducting systems have laser-welded seams resulting in a smooth, continuous, and leak-tight interior with no crevices for dust to accumulate. This means that laser-welded ducting eliminates the risk of debris build-up and blockages,  minimises air leakage throughout the system, and enables efficient extraction of hazardous particles preventing them from circulation into the air. Combined with reduced turbulence and friction, which are often sources of static electricity, usage of laser-welded ducting decreases the risk of ignition and explosion, making the production much safer. Additionally, laser-welded ducting can meet the highest air tightness standards and reduce exposure and health risks for workers.

With components available in galvanised and stainless‑steel options, QF ducting adapts easily to different industries and environmental demands while ensuring consistent performance and compatibility across the entire system. Wide product range, extensive accessories, and true one‑stop‑shop offering give engineers, installers, and plant managers a clear advantage when choosing the ducting system

Laser-welded vs. spiral lock-form ducting

Lock-formed spiral ducts can be cost-effective for non-critical environments, like offices or retail spaces. However, in higher-vacuum or dust heavy applications, they pose serious risks. Uneven seams trap debris, increase maintenance costs, and can lead to fires or explosions. On the other hand, Quick-Fit laser-welded ducting, with its smooth interior, is a crucial advantage for industrial applications. With no crevices for dust to accumulate, laser-welded ducting eliminates the risk of debris build-up and blockages, significantly reducing the potential for fires or explosions, and ensuring continuous, reliable operation.
