Nordfab Oil Mist System Components

Nearly all machining operations create oil mist, the aerosol formed when oil is used for cooling or lubricating during the machining of metal or plastic components. Proper ventilation is required to prevent oil mists from fouling equipment, products, and the working environment. Learn more

Nordfab offers QFS™ Sealed Duct to protect against leakage in ducting used in ventilation systems where oil mist and smoke are contaminants. The key components of the Nordfab® QFS system are: 

1) The ductwork has leak-resistant seams:

• QF^® Pipe and Quick-Fit^® Sleeves have laser-welded solid seams
  
• Caulk is applied to seams / joints on other components as needed. Nordfab has recently switched to a new more durable, marine grade sealant which offers improved UV exposure performance.

2 ) QFS Gaskets can be applied to the duct ends at the joints for an extra-tight seal. Nordfab has re-designed the QFS Gasket so it is easier to install and does not require adhesives. Other benefits of the new gasket include a non-directional design and fewer sizes needed, with the same conductive material as the previous design.

3) The QFS O-ring can be added to the Quick-Fit^® Sleeve to provide a tighter seal.The Sleeve is used where variable lengths are needed as it allows telescoping-type adjustments.

Oil Mist Recyclers and Drain Backs for Hose are additional QFS components which can be installed where needed.
